Obituary of Wayne Lyle Pulcifer
Wayne Lyle Pulcifer, a cherished family man, passed away peacefully of natural causes on February 17, 2025, at his home in Bay City, Michigan surrounded by family members. Born on April 30, 1934, in Farwell, Michigan, Wayne was a man whose life was as rich and fulfilling and made memories and friends
Wayne's journey began as the beloved son of Clifford and Helen Pulcifer. His life was characterized by the love he shared with his dear wife Joyce, who predeceased him in May of 2007, and the legacy they built together. Wayne was a guiding light and patriarch to a large and loving family, including his five daughters, Pamela Walker, Linda Appleby, Sandie (Pete) Gies, Dawn Yanna, and Stephanie (Rebecca) LaFrancis; two sons, Lon (Cathy) Pulcifer and Anthony Pulcifer; his ten grandchildren, Amber Kilvington, Alex (Maddison) Walker, Angela Appleby, Jason Appleby, Tracine (Heith) Webster, Mark Witkopt, Kyle Witkopt, Dustin Gies, Tiffany Gies (deceased), Chelsea (Brian) Walther, and Jared Pulcifer; and his 23 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
His life was further enriched by the presence of his siblings, Lucille (Don) Blazek, Alvin (Jerri) Pulcifer, Dorthey Miller, Bruce (Ruth) Pulcifer, and Paul (Joan) Pulcifer, along with his sisters-in-law Joyce, Connie, and Cathy Pulcifer. Wayne's family circle extended beyond bloodlines, including many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom felt the warmth of his generous spirit. While he was predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Helen, and his siblings Kenneth, David, Chuck Pulcifer, and June (Glenn) Whales, along with brother-in-law Bill Miller, the stories and memories they shared remain a testament to the love that defined Wayne's life.
Wayne's work history was marked by a long and dedicated career at Consumers Energy, where he not only contributed his skills but also formed lasting friendships. Upon retirement, he did not slow down but rather found new avenues to explore his passions and interests.
An artist at heart, Wayne had a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. He loved taking walks in the woods, where he found peace and inspiration. His hands were rarely still, as he was always creating—be it baking bread, crafting bead art, painting, working on wood art, crocheting, or perfecting his famous beef jerky. Wayne's talents were many, and he took great pleasure in sharing his creations with loved ones.
A man of faith, Wayne was an active member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall in Bay City. His spiritual life was a cornerstone that provided strength and guidance throughout his years. Wayne's belief system shaped the way he lived—focusing on love, compassion.
Wayne's love for fishing and camping was more than a hobby; it was a way of life. He cherished the quiet moments spent by the water and under the stars, often surrounded by family. These outings will live on and be cherished and continued by his loved ones.
Wayne's story is one of a life well-lived and well-loved. His presence will be profoundly missed, yet his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched. As Wayne has left this earthly realm, his memories, stories and love will live on within all who knew him.
A service of farwell to Wayne and the life he lived will be held Friday February 21, 2025 at 7pm at the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall 5435 Kasemeyer Rd., Bay City, Michigan 48706
