




Obituary of Sharon Lee Russell
Sharon Lee Russell passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. She was born in Gladwin, MI on March 11, 1947 to the late Max A. and Mary C. (Bushong) Thorington. She spent most of her childhood in Crump, MI, attending Pinconning schools. July 11, 1964 she married the love of her life, Dennis D. Russell. He predeceased her March 4, 2022 after almost 58 years of marriage. After raising her children, she spent several years as an Avon Representative, 6 years working at Pendell Printing, and a few years at Mills Market. Her passions were spending time with family, deer hunting (both archery and rifle), her garden, and her fruit trees. When her children were younger, she was responsible for the concession stand for the Larkin Township Little League for several years.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sherry (Paul) Wilson and Tim Russell; grandchildren, Max (Jamie) Russell, Kristi (Derek) Smith, Monica (Dustin) Russell, Josh (Laura) Simons, Heather (Chris) Hlavacek, Brandon (Cecy) Wilson, and Daniel (Lyn) Wilson; and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Donna Russell, Janice Thorington, Karen Russell, and Mary Ross; and several nieces and nephews, including her niece Joan that was instrumental in caring for her for the last week. She was predeceased by a son, Donald Russell; her parents; and her in-laws, Orville and Phyllis Russell; siblings, Max Thorington Jr., Allen (Ted) Thorington, John Thorington, and Catherine Thorington; in-laws, Joyce Thorington, Gary Russell, Larry Russell, and Chuck Russell. Sharon was a member of, and truly enjoyed attending, the Church of Daniel’s Band in Crump, Michigan. A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 24, 2025 at the Church of Daniel’s Band, 1517 W. Anderson Road, Linwood, MI 48634. Visitation will take place at church prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
