Obituary of Mr. Rodney G. Daniels

With heavy hearts we acknowledge the passing of Mr. Rodney G. Daniels, who left this world on May 1, 2025 at the age of 56 years old. A devoted father, brother, uncle, friend and demolition/construction worker, Rodney tore up things with his hands, but he also built a legacy of love, resilience and dedication that will live on in the hearts of those who knew and love him

Rodney was born in Bay City, Michigan on August 25, 1968 to Delores Holder and William M. Daniels and joined the Second Baptist Church as a young man. He loved the Lord and knew his Bible well and would attempt to preach it!  He graduated from Bay City Central High School in 1988.  Rodney loved fishing, cooking, specializing in barbequing, going to the Casino and partying with his many friends, and was die hard Detroit Piston fan!  He found joy in hard work, laughter and the strength of family. His kindness and wisdom shaped many lives.  Whether having people laughing on the job site or offering words of encouragement, he was a source of support and inspiration to many.

Mr. Daniels is survived by his brothers, William Danny Daniels (Tina) of Bay City, Michigan and Michael Holder, Saginaw, Michigan, sisters Tracy Daniels, Atlanta, Georgia, Lena R. Daniels, Bay City, Vicky Philips, Gurnee, Illinois and Vicki Holder of Saginaw, Michigan. He was a phenomenal father of eight children, and he leaves a legacy of love in Rodney Aron Daniels, Miyah June Daniels, Isaiah Alan Daniels, Ethan Rodney, Evander Robert, Everlea rose, Ember Rae, and Elana Raine; grandchildren Giovanni Jesus Vargas, Monie Daniels, Gen’ella Rose Vargas, and Lacelino Moreno.  Rodney also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a wide circle of friends. We acknowledge special friends Shoshana Daniels, Lacey Stanley, Vanessa Cortez, and Elias (Bam) Vargas.

Rodney was predeceased by his grandparents Ezra and Estelle Broadnax, George and Roberta Hayes and Dewey and Lena Daniels, parents Delores Holder and William M. Daniels, sister, Betty Coburn and step-parents Hattie Sisson and Rufus Holder.

Though he is no longer with us, his impact remains.  His strength, love and laughter will echo in the hearts of those who knew him.
