James Dillon Troester

Jim was born on July 14, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan, son of the late John W. and Marian (Meagher) Troester.  Jim graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and from the University of Michigan with a Master of Social Work Degree. 

He was a clinical social worker and practiced for thirty-eight years.  Jim worked in the Bay Area Guidance Center, and the Bay-Area Intermediate School District, retiring in 2000. He is the author of over a dozen articles in professional social work and mental health journals. 

Jim was preceded in death by his wife Patricia (Connelly) Troester.  They were married on August 19, 1961, and are the parents of James F. (Elizabeth Alarie) of Torch Lake, Michigan and Dennis P. Troester of Bay City, Michigan, and the grandparents of Logan J. Troester of Kalispell, Montana, and Daniel E. Watson of Cedarville, Michigan. 

Jim was also preceded in death by his brothers, Reverand John W. Troester, the Honorable Edmund Troester, Dennis (Kathleen) Troester, and sisters Margaret (Robert) Beck, and Marian (James) Pasek.  He also leaves many nieces and nephews. 

Jim began playing harmonica as a young boy, and to the surprise of his parents, won a talent show that was broadcast on radio.  He was a member of SPAH (Society for the Preservation and Advancement of Harmonica), founding member of the Bay Area Harmonicas, as well as PhD (Piano Harmonica Duo).
