My dad, Sergeant Andrew Carmona, was a proud veteran who served in the United States Air Force as a Jet Engine Mechanic. He earned several accolades, including the National Defense Service Award and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. I will always be proud of his service and honor him. I will cherish the family cookouts where we listened to music and shared stories from the past, filled with laughter. It feels like just yesterday when I watched him enjoy old Westerns and football while enjoying some sweets and snacks.
