Earl Ransier

Obituary of Earl William Ransier

Our loving father and grandfather Earl William “Bill” Ransier, age 89, of Bay City, passed peacefully into eternal life on the morning of Tuesday, April 21, 2026, surrounded by the love of the family he cherished so deeply.

Born in Bay City on December 30, 1936, Bill was the son of the late Marie (Johnson) Geneseo. He graduated from St. Joseph High School and proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He went on to live a life defined not by titles, but by the way he showed up for the people he loved, with strength, humor, and a steady presence you could always count on.

Bill had a quick wit and a unique sense of humor. He always had a good wisecrack ready to bring smile or a good laugh to those around him. He was an avid sports enthusiast especially basketball, baseball, football, and golf. Sunday dinners were a cherished tradition often followed by a trip to the park or the YMCA with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed a good trip to the casino. But more than anything, Bill loved his family. His greatest joy was being a father and grandfather. He adored his daughters and took immense pride in his grandchildren.

Left to carry on his memory are his three daughters, Diane Johnson, Debra LeVasseur, and Dawn (Todd) Reed. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty (Lee) Haga and Joyce (John) Fournier. He will be forever loved and deeply missed by his grandchildren, Kristi LeVasseur, Kari LeVasseur, Jennie Lindauer, Janelle (Keith Case) Lindauer, JJ Johnson, Wesley Reed, Jordan Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Christian Reed, and Haleigh Reed; along with fourteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren who brought him so much happiness.

In addition to his parents, Bill was welcomed home to heaven by his brothers, Robert Ransier, Ronald Ransier, and Richard Ransier.

Bill’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to family—a legacy that will live on in each of us.
