Roland passed away June 1, 2021 at the age of 65. He was born in Beaverton Michigan, November 18, 1955 to the late Donald and June Maxwell. On August 8, 2008 he married the love of his life, the former Kelly Schmidt.
He is survived by his wife, Kelly Maxwell (Schmidt); his children, Benjamin Maxwell, Rachael Maxwell, Joshua (Andrea) Maxwell, Justin Maxwell, Meghann (Rob) Cowger, Katie (Jason Janowiak) Brandow, Austin (Megan Haskins) Maxwell, and Jacob Horstman; 13 grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Nancy) Maxwell and Ron Maxwell; mother and father-in-law, Howard and Colleen Schmidt; sisters-in-law, Sue Goetzinger and Kimberly Wendell; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Jean Bowers; his nephew, Ronald Maxwell; and his beloved dog, Miko.
It was Roland’s request for cremation to take place and that no services be held. He will be laid to rest at Floral Gardens Cemetery in Bay City. The family extends a special “thank you” to McLaren Hospice for their extraordinary care. To sign online guestbook, visit www.hyattewald.com
