Terry Lee Kowalczyk (Hita), age 66 of Bay City MI, passed away on June 21, 2021 at her home. Terry was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on July 7, 1954 to Jesus and Nieves (Mesa) Ibanez the previous owners of Chico’s Family Restaurant.
Terry was a server at heart. She not only served as a waitress for 15 years for her parents at Chico’s, and for Ryan’s Steakhouse in Kentucky. Terry had a passion for taking care of people, so when she wasn’t serving, she got a job working as a CNA for the Carriage house nursing home taking care of people. Being a very friendly person, she ended up having many acquaintances throughout the years and quite a few close friends.
Terry is survived by her children, Anna (Dave) Olshove, Maria Guerra Saucedo, Manuel Guerra, and Alexander Kowalczyk all of Bay City MI; her brother, Jessie (Juana) Ibanez of Bay City and Mary Lou Ibanez (Roger) of Texas; her stepchildren, Amy (Roland) Gonzalez, Michelle Kowalczyk and Michael (Stella) Kowalczyk all of Bay City; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great grandchildren. Terry was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Michael J. Kowalczyk; two brothers, John Joe and Rueben; her two sisters, Linda Delores and Ermelinda.
