(Campos) Galindo, Maria Teresa
Bay City, Michigan
The beloved Teresa, age 77, was welcomed home by our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 25th, 2022. The Lord graciously gifted this world with her presence on February 16th, 1945 born in Asherton, Texas to the late Narciso and Maria (Trevino) Campos.
Her love for Texas, her family, and Jesus was big. Teresa loved worshiping with her cantos de Alabanzas (Spanish Christian music) and enjoyed listening to a special Tejano music broadcasting show every Saturday morning. She’d spend hours cooking for friends and family and gathered everyone together, all hands on deck, for sweet bonding moments as they assembled and prepared dozens of tamales, passing on her skills to the next generation. Teresa was a great influence to her family and blessed them with wisdom and knowledge to carry on her traditions for generations to come.
Teresa was a woman of great faith and strength. She always wanted everyone, especially her hijos y nietos (children and grandchildren) to know the love of Jesus. “I love you, but Jesus loves you more,” she would remind them.
She was a living testimony of God’s goodness. Teresa served with her home church, Shalom Assembly of God, where she was a faithful giver and humbly served every week cleaning the church for many years. She was awarded with a plaque by the church for her generous efforts. Giving more than she received was the way she always lived and for that she was immensely respected by her family, friends, and congregation. Teresa will be remembered as a woman of strong faith with a servant heart.
Her love was sacrificial, working long days in the fields to care for her family and bringing along anyone who wanted to learn. Teresa moved to Michigan as a migrant worker and took pride in the value of hard work. She lived her life un dia la vez, one day at a time, with the strength of her Jesus and raised a family of strong men and women who will live to carry on her great legacy of hard work, determination, and great love.
She is survived by her sisters Sulema Ruiz and Linda Campos, her six beautiful children, Juana Amelia (Manuel) Buendia, Ivan (Elizabeth) Galindo, Azaneth (Tomas) Galindo, Jose (Sandra) Galindo, Maria Anita (Marcos) Esparza, Elizabeth (Oracio) Licea and grandchildren, Veronica, Mauricio, Sandra, Laura, Lisa Marie, Timothy, Joshua, Rebekah, Erica, Crystal, Raymond, Fernando, Jonathan, Cassandra, Teresa, Alexander, Rafael, Marco (Markitos), Marisela, Miguel, Abraham, Nevaeh and 23 great-grandchildren all whom she showered with love and was loved by dearly.
She was predeceased by her beloved son Baldemar Galindo Jr., grandson Abraham Buendia, brother Juan Campos, and sisters Juana Arreola and Martha Riojas.
Teresa raised up an army who stood by her side to the very end and sent her on her journey home to be with the Lord and reunite with her loved ones.
A Life Celebration will be held at 6 PM, Tuesday, May 31st, 2022 at the Hyatt Ewald Funeral Home, 700 N. Monroe St., Bay City, Michigan, with Pastor Manuel Hernandez officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday prior to the service from 2 PM – 6 PM.
