Obituary of Robert Lee Barnett
On August 23, 2022 Robert Lee Barnett was called to Heaven by Christ. Robert was born March 23, 1942 in Louisiana to James and Tommie Etta Barnett. Robert married Lorraine Anderson November 29, 1978, the two resided in Bay City, Michigan until his untimely death. He worked for General Motors and retired after 25 years of service. Robert enjoyed talking walks, yard work, music and socializing with everyone.
He had a heart of gold, always making sure his family and friends had what they needed.
Robert was preceded by his parents, James and Tommie Etta Barnett, sister, Delores Barnett, brother Ernest Barnett, daughter, Lorraine Hinkley and a nephew Harvey Barnett. Robert is survived by his wife Lorraine Barnett and daughters, Vita (Paul) Garcia, Brenda (Phillip) Knighton, Marsha Kubacki, Andrea Burney and Karen Blair. He is survived by his sister, Cecilia (Willie) Alston and brothers Torone Barnett, Otha Barnett and Kenny (Carletta) Barnett. He is survived by nieces Lenette and Keisha Barnett. Host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is survived by his two special friends Eddie Williams and TW Mason. Husband, Dad, Pops, Uncle and Friend you will be truly be missed until we meet again. Rest in Heaven!
A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM, Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Hyatt Ewald Funeral Home, 700 N. Monroe St., Bay City, MI. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 11 AM – 1 PM. Interment will take place at Green Ridge Cemetery followed by a reception at the Bay City Community Ceneter, 800 John F. Kennedy Dr., Bay City MI 48706.
