Obituary of James Dale Johnson

James Dale Johnson, of Bay City, Michigan, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 8, 2023. James was born to the late William and Lucille (Beaver) Johnson on August 29, 1937. He volunteered for REACT Emergency services, enjoyed occasional fishing, bowling, playing bingo, going to the slots, and spending time with family. Jim worked in the auto parts industry for 30 years and managed Johnson Adult Foster Care home with his wife, Karen for over 30 years. Jim was a very loving, devoted husband and father, and had no unkind words for anyone.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Karen (Linton) Johnson; his daughters from a previous marriage, Carrie (Cal) Ireland, Cathy (Roger) Beagle, and Connie Jo Kellogg; his son, James Lee (Brandie) Johnson; his stepchildren, Annette Gillette, Grace (Jim) Bollman, Ann Marie (Tony) Downing, and Becky (Bill) Buda whom he treated as his own. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Jim was predeceased by his three brothers, Robert Johnson, Fred Johnson, and William "Bill" Johnson; and his two sisters, Mildred (Buck) Gordon and Joan (Leon) Farrell. He will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
