Frances J. Eshelman, “Fran” age 86 of Byron, MI passed away peacefully on Monday, April 8, 2024 at Memorial Healthcare Center surrounded by her loving children.

Frances was born on October 20, 1937, in Ferndale, Michigan the daughter of the late George R. and Anna (Vearn) Bundshuh. Frances was a 1955 graduate of Royal Oak High school. After Graduation, she worked as a secretary for the John Hancock insurance agency. In 1957 Frances met the love of her life, the late Ronald G. Eshelman. They were married on January 4, 1958, and started their life together in Clawson, Michigan. They had three children together and eventually relocated to Byron, Michigan in 1972.

Frances spent the majority of her life raising her children and taking care of the family home. She served as the Antrim Township Treasurer for many years, was a member of the Red Hat Society and was an excellent seamstress. She made prom dresses for her daughter and granddaughter, prom tuxes for her sons and even made her daughter’s wedding dress. In her free time, Frances enjoyed playing pinochle, swimming, and spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

After retirement, Ron and Fran did some traveling and enjoyed a quiet life in the country until Ronald’s death five years ago, also on April 8, 2019.

Frances was one of the most loving, caring, and thoughtful people and was adored by all who knew her. She treated everyone with kindness and compassion. She was always willing to share her wisdom and give advice whenever it was asked of her. You could always find her doing fun things with her grandchildren. They would make crafts, play games, and swim often in her pool, creating many fond memories that they will cherish, always.
