Obituary of Delores Marie Buczek

Please share a memory of Delores to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With heavy hearts, we announce that Delores Marie Buczek, age 92, was welcomed into God's kingdom early Wednesday morning, May 22, 2024, at the home she cherished for 47 years. A lifelong resident of the South End in Bay City, MI, Delores was born as the youngest of nine children to the late William and Augustina (Damrau) Lukowski on March 20, 1932.

Delores was employed at Bay City Chevrolet assembling carburetors for 30 years until her retirement in 1983. She was also a devoted member of St. Hyacinth/Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish. Additionally, Delores enjoyed tending to her garden, watching and going to movies, playing bingo, going on casino trips, and she was a passionate fan of the Tigers, Lions, Wolverines, and Spartans. Delores was known for her genuine, down-to-earth nature, and her generosity touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. Above all, she treasured the countless moments spent with her family, creating cherished memories over her famous Polish meatballs, pierogies, golabki, and home-canned sauerkraut and pickles.

On October 8, 1955, Delores was united in marriage with her beloved, the late James Joseph Buczek at St. Hyacinth Church in Bay City. Delores and Jim were renowned for lighting up the dance floor at the Moose Club #169, family weddings, Pulaski Hall where they first met, and The Bon Ton where she accepted his marriage proposal. Their love and joy were palpable to all who witnessed them together.

Delores leaves behind a loving family: her four daughters, Pamela Promack, Cynthia (Dale) McCreery, Sandra (Larry) Martin, and Jodi (Jon) Copeland; her cherished grandchildren, Matthew (Michelle) and Lauren (Chris Ballatore) Promack, Noah McCreery, Grace, Sarah, Michael, and Tess Martin; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Sophie, Jack, and Sadie Promack. She was preceded in death by her sons-in-law, Randy Niederer and Mark Promack, her granddaughter Angela McCreery, and many dear sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Delores's wish was for cremation to take place with no formal services. A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Those wishing to honor her memory are encouraged to make a memorial contribution to a charity of their choice, continuing her legacy of kindness and generosity.

Delores will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her. Her love, generosity, and the joy she brought to our lives will be forever cherished and remembered. To sign the online guestbook, visit www.hyattewald.com.
