William Howard Oliver, age 90, passed away peacefully May 31, 2024 at his daughter's home in Owosso, Michigan. Although most of his life was lived in Shiawassee County, Bill was born in Livingston County on May 18, 1934 to the late Roy W. and Mildred I. (Roby) Oliver. He attended the Haggerty School in Bancroft, Michigan, and both Morrice and Byron High Schools, graduating from Byron in 1954.

During his life Bill wore many different hats. Although he worked for Blight Oil, Marsh Monument, A.I.S., R.E. Peckens, Byron Area Schools, Durand Feed and Grain, McConnell Sand and Gravel, Atkinson Construction, and Lightening Bar Equine Services, he was first and foremost, a farmer.  Although working full time away from the farm, he always continued to work fulltime as farmer.

Bill served on the Shiawassee D.H.I.A Board, was a previous member of the Byron Lyons Club, sat on the Byron School Board, and was a Past Master of the Byron Masonic Lodge No. 80. He also devoted his time to being a co-leader of the Byron Bronc Busters 4-H Club with Bob and Debbie Bentley.

Bill is survived by his daughter, Debra (Mitch Fromm) Oliver; sons, Michael (Vicki) Oliver, and Gary Oliver; sister, Martha (Oliver) Sanders; sister-in-law, Judy (Reed) Oliver; grandchildren, Beth (Kevin) Clark, Jim (Darci) Williams, and Joshua Tribley; great-granddaughters, Ella, Alli, and Olive Williams; many nieces and nephews; cousins, Robert, Thomas, Janet, and Sharon.  He is also survived by a special granddaughter, Ciara Andres; his estranged spouse, Joan Oliver and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard Eugene Oliver, David Jerry Oliver, and James Henry Oliver; and niece, Tammy Sue Haas  Hamper.

The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the members of the Gentiva Hospice Team for the care provided, especially Pastor Perrico, nurse Terri, social workers, Mariah and Victoria, and his aide, Nola.
