Obituary of Tracy Lloyd Palmer
Please share a memory of Tracy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Tracy Lloyd Palmer of Bay City, Michigan passed away peacefully at home on July 19, 2024 at the age of 69. He was born December 2, 1954 to Lloyd and Louise Palmer in Rhodes, Michigan where he lived and raised his own family. He married Jean (Huntley) Palmer in 1975, together they raised their three children. Although they divorced, they were both committed to sharing their family’s life events.
Tracy graduated Pinconning High School and then went on to serve honorably in the US Army reserves. He became a master plumber, owned Plumb Crazy Plumbing and worked for JE Johnson and the local 504 sprinkler fitters union until his retirement.
Tracy was known best for always having his cozie of Coke and a smart remark. He enjoyed wood working, riding his motorcycle, watching Nascar, skiing, model airplanes, and nights by a bonfire with family and friends. Most of all he loved his wife, children and grandchildren. Tracy was a wonderful dad to his kids; there was nothing that he wouldn’t do for them. He could build anything, fix anything, and was firm but full of love. His steady presence and great advice was unmatched and will be missed dearly. His grandchildren were the light of his life. He went to many football games, dance recitals, gymnastics meets, wrestling meets, bowling tournaments, cheerleading competitions, graduations and so much more with pride.
He married his soulmate, Sara (Becker) Palmer on February 15, 2014. They made the most of their life together. They enjoyed time with friends boating and playing cards for years. Trips on the motorcycle were especially memorable. Some of their favorites were the smokey mountains and on the tail of the dragon. The two of them bought retirement property in South Carolina which they visited frequently until they moved there full time in 2021. She has been steadfast by his side.
He is survived by his wife, Sara Palmer; three children, Jennifer (Bob) Reed, Trina Palmer, and Travis (Erin) Palmer; son-in-law, Randy (Stacie) Becker; grandchildren, Nick (Darcy) Reed, Micayla Reed, Dylan White (Emily), Airyonna Palmer, and Alex Palmer; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Charley and Brinley Reed; his siblings, Yvonne (Jack) Luesing and Diana (Kendon) Chubb; and his many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Harmony Hospice for all of the wonderful care and to Terri Lynn for all the time spent with Tracy and for always giving him a smile when she walked in the room.
Per his wishes cremation has taken place. There will not be a funeral service as Tracy expressly forbid it, and for once his rebellious children relented. We encourage you instead to use that time to share a Coke with someone you love and maybe create a new memory.
