Obituary of Dennis Brian Bollman

Dennis Brian Bollman, age 60,  of Vassar Michigan, passed away December 31, 2024.  He was born in Bay City, Michigan January 27, 1964.

Dennis enjoyed watching football, especially the Detroit Lions, playing the slots on his IPad, going to the casino, traveling, painting miniatures, sketching drawings, watching movies, and reading.

He retired from the Michigan Department of Corrections in 2013 where he was employed as a corrections officer at the Freeland prison. In his early days at MDOC he competed in weight-lifting and Strength Competitions, Dennis also competed in swim in high school. 

Dennis enjoyed humor and often used it on his daily life to lighten tense situations.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy; children, Derek (Brooke), Ryan, Jillian Knoll, and Aly (Josh) Reinbold; grandchildren, Aryanna, Olivia, Grant, Jackson; siblings, Jo Ellen (Victor) Kolka, John (Mary), Aaron (Tina), Michael (Susan), James (Graci), Daniel Bollman, Juliann (Rod) Reynolds, and Brigid (Ken) Weichec.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Rex C. Bollman and Maureen E. Bollman (Redmond); and daughter, Cassandra.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm, January 11, 2025 at the Hyatt-Ewald Funeral Home, 700 N. Monroe Street, Bay City, MI 48708. Family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 10 am to 1 pm. All are encouraged to wear their Detroit Lions of Michigan football attire to honor Dennis’s love of football. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Bay Veterans Foundation, 1009 N.
