Obituary of Nellie E. Morin

Nellie passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the age of 94. She was born on December 31, 1919 to the late Leonard and Elsie (Bennett) Pitcher in Carlisle Arkansas. She was a former member of Thoburn United Methodist Church, served as the Secretary of the PTA, was a Cub Scout Leader and Den Mother, and especially enjoyed decorating wedding cakes. She was an avid crafter and excellent seamstress. She is survived by her children, Wilfred (Jean-Luc Duhamel) Morin of Montreal Canada, Gerald (Nancy) Morin of Bay City, Ronald (Sharon Sprouse) Morin of Cumming GA, James (Janene) Morin of Hastings MI, Virginia (Paul) LaRose of Pine Hill NJ, Sue (Ted) Lind of Bay City; 10 Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren; her sister, Margaret Wicker of Monroe MI, brother, Francis "Mike" (Millie) Pitcher of Texas; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred "Red" Morin in 1983; her brothers, Lincoln H. Pitcher & Lynn Pitcher; her sisters, Agnes Holmes & Virginia Daniels; step mother, Tennessee Stokes-Pitcher; and several brothers and sisters in law. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 2 PM at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 206 Scherumann St., Essexville MI. Rev. Eric Stone will officiate with a private burial to follow in Carlisle Arkansas. The family will receive friends at church on Saturday from 12 Noon until service time.
