Obituary of "Mardi" Mardella R. Khan

Please share a memory of "Mardi" Mardella to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Khan, Mardella "Mardi" (Keck) Bay City, Michigan Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend was called home by her Lord and Savior suddenly on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at the age of 66, due to a brain aneurysm-- she felt no pain as she entered into her eternal home. Mardi was born in Muskegon, Michigan on June 28, 1949 to the late Herbert and Doreda (Ober) Keck. Muskegon was always her home in her heart. It was there that she met Mohammed (Moe) Khan, and just six weeks after meeting, they were married on October 17, 1969. Together they had three daughters: Rehana, Tyra and Shela. Throughout the years, Mardi and Moe travelled extensively to wonderful places like Europe, Asia, and their favorite, Australia. Taking weekend trips up north to observe nature or go star-gazing was not unusual for them, and you would often find a grandchild or two tagging along. Mardi was the proud owner of TriCity Printing Center in Saginaw, Michigan. The "shop" was not just where she went to work, but where she met and chatted with many of her dear friends. Everyone who has ever worked for Mardi became a family member and she loved everyone who passed through her doors. It was not uncommon for Mardi to spend an hour talking to a customer who spent less than a dollar in the store. She often compared the shop counter to a therapy station where she doled out advice, gave words of encouragement or sang the praises of how blessed we are to have a loving and faithful God like Jehovah! And boy did she love the Lord! Mardi was raised Lutheran and was so happy to find a spiritual home at Messiah Lutheran Church in Bay City- where she got to worship with her daughters and grandbabies. She loved the music and tradition of her faith. Mardi was surrounded by countless loved ones even as she took her last breath. She leaves behind so many who will forever mourn this deep loss, including her husband Mohammed; children: Rehana (Rick) Brown; Tyra (Shahzad) Khan and Shela (Richard) Monroe; her most precious treasures, her grandchildren; Crystal (Bobby Howser) Brown, Whitney (Shawn McClorey) Brown, Kaegan and Madeline Brown, Mason and Nadia Khan, Lane and Isla Monroe; her "adopted" grandson, Tyler Mercier-Leonard; great grandchildren, Liam, Paxton and Griffin McClorey and Eliot Hown; her beloved sister, Dawn (John) Kulesza; sisters-in-law, Donna Keck and Kitty Keck; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Roger, Terry, and Danny Keck. A final "see you mañana" Memorial Service will take place on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 12 Noon at Messiah Lutheran Church, 501 Catherine Street, Bay City, MI with her beloved Pastor Andreas Teich officiating. In lieu of flowers, and to honor the memory of this amazing woman, a foundation will be established in her name. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the "family's wishes." To sign online guestbook, visit www.hyattewald.com
