Obituary of Nelson Junior Doud

Doud, Nelson Junior Akron, Michigan Nelson Junior Doud, age 81 of Akron, died Monday September 26, 2016 at his home, after a brief illness. Nelson was born on August 7, 1935 in Bloomfield Twp. in Saginaw MI. He was united in marriage to the late Merlene Black on April 18, 1954 in Akron. Together they shared 62 years of marriage. Nelson worked for GM and Bernia Farms of Akron. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and tinkering with anything that ran and had a motor. Bee keeping was his specialty, and he enjoyed his bees. In retirement he enjoyed having friends and family bring him small engines, cars, and boats to fix. Nelson leaves to cherish his memory, sons Martin and Laura Doud, Wade and Linda Doud; two brothers, Robert and Donald Doud; six grandchildren, Christine Reder, Tracy (Jim) Miller, Ashley, Bryce, Kyle and Jason Doud; great- grandchildren, Gunner Miller, Logan and Lindsey Reder. He was preceeded in death by his wife Merlene Doud; son, Bryan Doud; and parents Floyd and Helen Doud. A Memorial Service will be held on October 8, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Wisner United Methodist Church. Pastor Oh will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 until the time of service.
