Austin, "Bud" George Munger, MI Bud, age 84, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Monday, April 3, 2017. He is now walking in heaven with the Lord. He was born October 10, 1932 to the late "Pat" Clayton and Lola Austin in Fairgrove Michigan, and was a lifelong Munger area resident. He married the former Nancy Rubick at the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church on May 28, 1955 and she survives him. He was a member of the Munger Presbyterian Church and the First Presbyterian Church in Bay City. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, was retired from Baker Perkins and from the Merritt Township Fire Department where he served for 45 years. He was a loving, kind, humble, quiet, and generous man who worked tirelessly in the background as a caretaker for the Munger Presbyterian Church property and the Merritt Township Fire Department fire equipment. For Bud, family wasn't just a part of his life, they were his life. He loved sharing with them his love of nature. He enjoyed and took pride in tending to his tulips, roses, and other flowers. He could also be found watching the Detroit Tigers or NASCAR with Dale Earnhardt #3, riding his bike, camping, and riding on his John Deere. His pride and love was always evident when he was joining in any type of activity with his family. He loved the Lord, loved his church, and used his God given talents and gifts to build a home and family with Nancy. He is survived by his loving wife Nancy; 6 children, Brenda (Bill) Vermeesch of Bay City, Val (Mark) DeLadurantaye of Bay City, Renae (Tim) VanDenBoom of Munger, Pat (Kelly) Austin of Munger, Paul Austin & Bonnie Thomas of Munger, Keri (Earl) Austin-Schatzer of Bay City; grandchildren, Teressa (Chuck) Lock, Nicole Leitermann, Melissa (Kirk) Bush, Jean-Luc and Andre DeLadurantaye, Travis (Ryann) VanDenBoom, Gina (Craig) Bauschatz, Dustin Bennett, Pat Michael Austin II & fiancée Jessica Grinnell, Brett Austin, Julia Bennett, Timothy Austin, Christopher Randall, Krista Austin & Aaron Wejrowski, Forrest & Taylor Schatzer; 12 great-grandchildren, Bryce, Grace, Dylan, Alexis, Chandler, Chance, Brady, Callie, Zoey, Chloe, Carter, & Landon; siblings, Lois (Jack) Harris, Jack (Faith) Austin, Caroline Grace; sisters in law, Joan Austin & Rosemary Zibbell; special family friend, Avid Martin; many nieces, nephews, cousins, & extended family.
