Davis, Betty Jean Bay City, MI Betty, age 92, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018. She was born July 6, 1926 to the late Leonard and Jenny (French) Shawl in Cheboygan Michigan. She married Franklin Davis on May 25, 1946 in Bay City and he predeceased her in March of 2009. She was an area resident most of her life, had been a member of Fremont United Methodist Church for many years, operated model boats and had been a member of the Saginaw RC Boat Club. Although she enjoyed camping, traveling, visiting Florida, and being a homemaker, her greatest love was her family and found extra joy with her grandchildren and great-grandson. She is survived by her sons, Franklin Davis II of Bay City MI and William (Bernice) Davis of Auburn MI; grandchildren, William and Jessica Davis of Auburn MI; a great-grandson, Aiden Davis; and a nephew, Bob (Joan) Shawl of Bay City MI. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 11 AM at the Hyatt Ewald Funeral Home, 700 N. Monroe St., Bay City MI, with Pastor Jeff Temple officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 12 Noon – 4 PM and from 6 PM - 8 PM and prior to the service on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service. The family would like to express to all of Betty's caregivers from Heartland Healthcare and Hospice, their appreciation for the care provided to her. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, act.alz.org, or 225 N.
