Obituary of Betty J. Luce

Luce, Betty J. Essexville, Michigan Betty, age 89, passed away Friday, April 19, 2019. She was born December 30, 1929 in Munger Michigan to the late Jay and Louise (Morel) Briggs and was an area resident all of her life. She married Michael Luce February 13, 1971 in Reese Michigan and he survives her. She is also survived by her children, Terry Shooltz, Barb (Gary) Behmlander, David (Susan) Shooltz, and Stacey (Randy) LaPreze; grandchildren, Zachary, Casey, Jennifer (Bryan), Kevin, Brooke, Richard, Andrew (Kristine), Jessica (Mark), and Andrew, and Landrie, Sydnie, Clint (Jennifer), and Ali LaPreze; 10 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Michelle Shooltz; mother-in-law, Inez Luce; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and many friends. She was predeceased by her son Larry Shooltz; siblings, Dorothy VanTol, Arthur Briggs, & Mary Helmreich; and father-in-law, Robert Luce. A Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon, Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Grace United Methodist Church, East Side Campus (Fremont United Methodist Church), 510 Fremont Street, Bay City, Michigan, with Pastor Jeff Temple and Reverend Joseph Atchinson officiating. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 from 5 – 8 PM at the Hyatt Ewald Funeral Home, 700 N. Monroe St., Bay City Michigan and at church on Thursday prior to the service from 11 AM until service time.
