Michael, age 71, passed away unexpectedly May 21, 2019. He was born in Bay City Michigan April 3, 1948 to the late Floyd and Anna Tacey. He married the former Nancy R. Hemenway on July 11, 1970 and she survives him. He was an avid hunter and camper, was a member of Stromberg's Car Club, and the proud owner of a 1971 Cutlass. He was retired from GM Delphi and from farming after many years of service. Although his life was full and he enjoyed the outdoors, his greatest love was the time spent with his family, especially the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who weren't just a part of life, they were his life.
He is survived by his wife Nancy; his children, Michael (Alana) Tacey II of Bentley MI, Michelle (Lou) Green of Bay City MI, and Matthew (Sarah) Tacey of Hampton Twp. MI; grandchildren, Deven Tacey, Steven (Monica) Woodbury, Latisha (Austin) Pierson, Alex Tacey, Cassie Green, Kennedy Kerry-Green, Kyle Green; great-grandchildren, Weston Woodbury, Kyliana Green, Madilynn Gordon; siblings, Owen (Jeannie) Tacey, Floyd (Angie) Tacey, Joe (Amy) Tacey, Annette (Bob) Gaines, Rick (Michelle) Tacey; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents-in-law, Glen and Ruth Hemenway and his sister-in-law, Susan Miller.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 24, 2019 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 206 Scheurmann St., Essexville MI, with Rev. Eric Stone officiating. The family will receive friends at the Hyatt Ewald Funeral Home, 700 N. Monroe St., Bay City MI on Thursday, May 23, 2019 from 2PM – 8 PM and on Friday at church prior to the service from 10 AM – 11 AM.
