Obituary of Marcella Atkinson

Atkinson, Marcella Bay City, Michigan (formerly of Tawas City and Pinconning MI) Mrs. Atkinson, age 91, died on Friday June 14, 2019. Marcella was born in Saginaw, Michigan on October 28, 1927 to the late Otto and Jennie (Hazlett) Cook. She married Roy Atkinson on September 17, 1962 in Tawas Michigan. Marcella was a member of the Bay City V.F.W. Post Auxiliary, a volunteer with Meals on Wheels in Bay City, and always volunteering for numerous non- profit agencies in the Bay City area for many years. She worked as a care giver in group homes for many years. Mrs. Atkinson is survived 4 children, Audrey Nelson of Hale, Alfred (Karen) Dennis of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Kathy Mailley of Hale, and Roy (Beth) Atkinson of Linwood. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Roy in 1978; her daughter, Arlene Dennis in 2006; and infant son, Theodore. A family life celebration will be planned for a later date.
