Obituary of Germaine "Geri" A. Karpus Butler

Germaine "Geri" Karpus Butler, age 88, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Bay Shores Nursing Center. She was born in Bay City Michigan January 7, 1931 to the late John F. and Helen A. (Dardas) Karpus. She was very involved with her community, however, for many years she worked alongside her father, operating the Karpus Funeral Home. She had a wonderful, colorful sense of humor and her greatest joy in life was her family. Her cooking and baking, especially family favorites at holiday time will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. She is survived by her children, Mary Lou (Randy) Mohnk of Chesaning Michigan, Linda Chang of Carmel IN, and Michael (Betty) Butler of Bay City MI; three grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brother, Tom Karpus of Florida; many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Jack Butler; son, John; and brothers, Bill and Jim Karpus. A Mass will be held at 10 AM, Friday, July 12, 2019 at All Saints Parish, St. James Catholic Church, 710 Columbus Avenue, Bay City Michigan. Father Jose Cabrera will officiate. Family will receive friends at church from 9 AM until 10 AM prior to the service.
