Dear Mary and Mark, and the Ewald Family,

Mary, Mark, Grace and Jonathan: I was so sorry to hear when Poppi went into the hospital and very sorry when Mark called to say he had made his journey to a far better place, with Nini. He is in a far better place and no longer has to suffer. He and Nini will both be able to watch over you. One more bright star in the sky, and another set of angel wings were given out. Thoughts and prayers. Jan Murawski

Family of the Late William "Bill" Ewald:
On behalf of the Doyle Family and the Historic Second Baptist Church Family, we mourn with you in the passing of your loved one and our dear friend Bill Ewald and extend our deepest sympathy to you and your family as you journey through this period of bereavement. I pray that you find comfort in knowing that Bill is at peace in the presence of the Lord.
I remember meeting Bill and becoming friends with him nearly thirty years ago. Whenever we met he always had a friendly smile and kind words. His uplifting spirit and pleasant personality will always be cherished.
He was also a faithful servant; serving his country as a member of the U.S. Army and also his community as a mortician/funeral director in the Hyatt-Ewald Funeral Home. He was a compassionate, professional servant to hundreds of families throughout Bay City and surrounding areas.
We thank God for his contributions to this community and to the Second Baptist Church family.
May God continue to comfort you in this hour of bereavement as you continue to be strengthened by His power, provisions and precious promises. May God bless and keep you.
Yours in Christ,
Seth R. Doyle

Cousin Bill: Your warm and friendly visits to Ewald's Bar were always enjoyed by my mother Edna and father Bill, as well as my brother Ken and sister-in-law Sheila. All of your visits were too quick! We have reminisced recently with Sheila of how she misses and loved your chats when while running into you near your home. Dee and I also enjoyed the time you spent with us at our home in Saginaw. A wealth of family knowledge goes with you. Missing you already. Enjoy the journey. Love, Bill and Dee Ewald

We lived across the street from Bill. He was always up for a visit on a Saturday or Sunday when we were out working in the yard and he always had a 'cookie' for each of our dogs. Over the years our visits became less frequent, but we always watched for him to be out on his porch (wearing his Maize and Blue sweater or jacket in the fall) and shared a hearty wave and hello. Bill will be missed greatly for his friendly conversations and for being the nice guy that he truly was.
Our condolences to his family.
