I just learned of Mrs. Harrison's death. She was my Cub Scouts den mother, a kind lady who gave her time and energy to a bunch of kids. We kids were at an age at which the world revolves around us; we assume that adults will be there to guide and support us. Later we learn how much work and dedication that involves. That's when real gratitude comes. The heroes in our society are the adults who make time for kids. She's in my thoughts often. If I turn my head as I type, I can see the painted plaster Cub Scouts animal heads--Wolf, Bear, Lion--that were a project.

Very sorry for your loss. Mrs. Harrison was my Kindergarten teacher at Farragut in the early 70s, and have only fond memories of her classroom. Your mother/grandmother had a positive impact on many lives.

Thank you so much for sharing your memories of our mother. She would be pleased to hear such words coming from one of her former students and that she was thought of so fondly after so many years. She continued to talk about and share stories of her students right up until the time of her passing. She loved all of you.

Many thanks for your kind sentiments. And those photographs! Just amazing that you would still have them from so long ago. Our hearts are touched by the outpouring of support that we have received from her students. She would tell us that she loved teaching, that she loved her students, and that she wanted all of of them to find success in their chosen endeavors. I can tell you would make our mother proud.

She was loved by all her little students, their parents and staff. When I met her again in her assisted living residence in 2017, 45 years after having my daughter in her kindergarten classroom, she perked up talking of the students of that time and very keenly recited the story of her life. She WAS revered and loved for her kind ways as ALL the students from 1972 will attest. May she be an example for all who love teaching. My sympathy to her children, she was so proud of you.

Your kind thoughts are much appreciated. Really nice to hear that mom was able to reconnect with one of her parents after so many years. Mom loved your daughter as she did all of her students. Thank you for being such a good friend to our mother while in assisted living. She appreciated your friendship and spoke of you often.

Mrs. Harrison was my teacher at Farragut back in the early 70’s. I will always remember her kindness and lessons she taught to our class. She got us all off on the right start for success.
I would often see her out shopping over the years and she always knew my name, my parents, we would always have a lovely visit. Rest In Peace Mrs. Harrison- you will be missed.
